Group Study Exchange
Group Study Exchange (GSE)
The Group Study Exchange program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange between Rotary Districts for young business and professional men and women. Rotary districts in different countries are paired to send and receive a professional study group of 4 to 6 team members with one Rotarian team leader. The experience last 4 to 6 weeks. The team members cannot be Rotarians, spouses, siblings, or children of Rotarians, and are to be less than 40 years old.
The GSE program is designed to develop professional and leadership skills among these young adults. During the visits, they will have opportunities to observe their vocations as practiced in another country. GSE allows the participants to study another country and experience its people, language and institutions to promote a greater appreciation of cultural diversity. On the fellowship level, the team members will meet, communicate, and live with host families wherever possible. This will foster lasting friendships and international understanding.
Our District 7680 has participated in Group Study Exchanges for many years. Current member of the Statesville Rotary Club, John Karriker, has served as a team leader in the past.
